I'm so excited to announce my First Blog Giveaway with Paperflavor! I am lucky enough to receive a variety goodies from Paperflavor to help me write a thorough review for you, the readers. Below you can see the delciously fun Paperflavor haul I recieved: the Flavorkid Cool Nerd Paper Doll and Flavorkid Rocker Paper Doll, along with Flavorgirl Holiday Cut Outs, four Flavorgirl pins, and three cards, Mother's Day card, a Wedding card, and a Housewarming card and in the middle the giveaway prize Flavorgirl Original Fruit Card Set.


I gave my mom the Mother's Day card and she absolutely loves it! The heart ballon is precious and I like that it reads "Happy Mommy Day!" since I never call her Mother, it's always Mommy or Mom. She really enjoys the card because of the heartwarming Flavorgirl who she said reminds her of me. I suppose I see a bit of resemblance. I couldn't help but try to pair the lovely Mother's Day Card with a photo of myself to display the similarities.I think Paperflavor's motto says it all "Sweet stationary, made fresh daily." Their products are endearing but also refreshing with its modern twist. Such as the Flavorkid paper doll set I received of Cool Nerd and Rocker. If the Mother's day card didn't resemble me, the cool nerd paper doll certainly does! I am of course a cool nerd, I was so excited to find a paper doll with glasses, I tend to wear glasses about 60% of the time, and she even had red frames just like me! I dressed her up with a hairband, another favorite accessory of mine and an adorable dressy outfit! I choose the backdrop of books to help this little smarty shine in her natural environment! I really had fun with the paperdolls I have had a few in the past but never with such cool outfits and funky accessories! The best part is that they are not only super cute, creative but very light, I can easily take my Flavorgirl Cool Nerd paper doll with me everywhere. If I wanted to try to craft some new clothes for her, all I need is paper and scissors! Look out Blythe dolls you got a new fashionable lighter doll to compete with!

Christmas came early this year with the Flavorgirl Holiday Cut Outs! They were pretty easy to cut, just follow the dotted line, I can see kids having a blast cutting them up for the holidays. They are perfect holiday treat, make me really look forward to Christmas! I think they'd be great as a gift tag such as the Reindeer cut out above. The Elf cut out look so festive on a big red Holiday bow, definitely some kawaii pizazz! Awesomness coming to you from Japan!

I have always been very fond of Japanese culture, starting with my huge love for Hello Kitty as a child. As a teenager I fell in love with Anime. I thought I would share some of my favorites with you guys, if you love them as well tell me a fond memory you have or another awesome Japanese product, art form or etc I should know!

1. Furoshiki Gift Wrapping, I stumbledupon this cool Japanese Art Form which takes gift wrapping to a new level, allowing the giver to offer the gift in an eco-friendly yet beautiful fabric. It is truly amazing process to watch in the youtube link below.

2. Ramune, A delicious carbonated drink that is well known for its unique design! Ramune is made of glass and sealed with a marble; in order to open the bottle, you must push the marble inside the neck of the bottle with a little device on the lid. Sounds complicated? It might be a bit tricky at first but its part of the fun! Well worth while since it tastes so good! Ramune is offered in a variety of places from your local Asian Market or Sushi Restaurant, but there is always Amazon!

3. Botan Rice Candy, I grew up eating this tasty treat which is chewy and offers the unusual chance to eat rice paper! I loved it because it always comes with a little toy usually a sticker! I actually have one on my laptop right now, of Japanese Symbols, perhaps for yummy candy. You can also find this on Amazon but is very popular, you are bond to find it at your local Asian market.

4. Rinne (2005), Also known as Reincarnation is a Japanese Horror Movie, there are a lot of really great Japanese Horror movies but this one is my favorite because I love past lives and creepy hotels (Love The Shining). It is made by the people that brought you The Grudge, it is about a professor who videotapes a massacre in an experiment in hopes of revealing the truth of reincarnation. I am linking up a trailer but warn you SPOILER ALERT, as like many trailers it shows lots of juicy bits but some need that to be enticed! Perfect movie to watch for this coming Halloween!

5. Salux Nylon Japanese Beauty Skin Bath Wash Cloth/Towel, A popular item in our home, better than a loofah, why because loofahs seem to always fall in my shower because they are bulky! This wash cloth is perfect for reaching your back, dries quick and you'll have silky smooth skin! It comes in fun colors like pink, blue and yellow so you can have one for each family member. Also available at Amazon, because Amazon is amazing! However we were able to get it at our local Asian market, so keep your eye out!

Finally Try Flutterscape! What is Flutterscape? It may seem odd or complex but it is really fun! So it starts out with a random person in Japan, who take a photo of an item at store, they post it on Flutterscape, people bid on the item, once auction is over, they go back to the store purchase item and send it to Flutterscape Headquarters who send it to the recipient. You can find all sorts of crazy random merchandise that is fun to browse through and you might come across a dream item! It is where I got the top image,Nyanpire, and below are a two cute items I found there as well!

Why I'm Mad for Borders!

I love Borders, I love buying books but I especially love Borders because of Paperchase, which specializes in stationary and other cute items! Paperchase is the reason for all the "Awwwwww" cooing, school girl geeking out, jumping for joy well for me at least! Seriously, my boyfriend has to peel me away from their section! I'm always so impressed by their new designs. Borders owned most of Paperchase after 2004 but recently sold the company in July for 31$ Million dollars. Luckily Borders will continue to sell these super cute Paperchase products! But it did make it hard for me to track down Paperchase on Borders website so I went straight to the source! I thought I'd share some of the cutest design they have out!
